PDF documents
Single or multi-page drawings, invoices, parts lists and reports. Each page is rasterised and read individually, up to 12 pages per file.
Supported file formats and export formats
AxioExtract reads PDF, PNG, JPG, DOCX, XLSX, CSV, DXF, IFC and SPIR workbook files — including engineering drawings, exploded assemblies with parts lists, P&IDs, invoices, SPIR spare-parts records and office documents — then exports the reviewed data to Excel (.xlsx), Google Sheets, JSON or XML. Credits are charged per page inside each file, at a rate set by document complexity.

Scans, screenshots and exported sheets. Ideal for a single drawing or diagram captured as an image.
JPG / JPEG images
Photographs of printed drawings, nameplates and marked-up sheets taken on site.
Word documents
Specifications, method statements and reports. Body text and embedded tables are both captured.
Excel workbooks
Existing spreadsheets that need restructuring into a consistent, column-per-field layout.
CAD drawings (DXF)
Native AutoCAD exchange files. The drawing is rendered for review and its text layer — title block, notes, dimension text, balloon attributes — is read directly from the file.
BIM models (IFC)
Building models exported from common BIM authoring tools, returned as an element schedule with type, name, mark, storey, material and quantities. Up to 60 MB per model.
CSV files
Delimited exports from other systems that need cleaning and mapping into a defined schema.

Limits and things worth knowing
- Up to 12 image pages are read per file, rising to 40 pages for text-based PDFs and spreadsheets; split longer documents before uploading.
- CAD uploads are charged per file rather than per printed page: 6 credits for a DXF drawing, 10 credits for an IFC model.
- *SPIR workbooks — and SPIRs printed to PDF — are read deterministically from the template layout at 4 credits per page, rising to 8 credits per page only when the layout cannot be read and the file has to go through the vision chain instead. Once read, you can generate a tag register and a bill of materials (per-tag or consolidated) with validation flags for missing part numbers, zero quantities and duplicate merges.
- Other CAD formats are not read. DWG, RVT (Revit), SolidWorks (.sldprt/.sldasm/.slddrw), Inventor (.ipt/.iam/.idw), CATIA and STEP/IGES files should be exported to PDF or DXF first — to IFC for building models.
- Single or multiple files can be queued at once, and each file can use a different document profile.
- Every extracted value links back to the region of the page it came from, so you can check it against the original before exporting.
- Files are stored in a private bucket scoped to your workspace and can be deleted from the server while keeping the history record.
